Perfection is a state of mind that is based on expectations and moral values. It can be achieved through self-improvement and virtues. Virtues are good or admirable qualities or properties in a person. Virtues allow you to strive and reach goals within your life. Some virtues that are important in my life include vision, integrity, dedication, magnanimity, openness, humility, fairness, creativity, assertiveness, and sense of humor. When you aim for these virtues perfection comes effortless.
Vision and integrity are two virtues that are very important for self-improvement. A leader with vision has a clear, vivid picture of where to go, as well as a firm grasp on what success looks like and how to achieve it. This allows you to straighten your priorities and know what goals you want to achieve. I can better my vision by keeping clear goals and know where I want to go in my life. Integrity is the integration of outward actions and inner values. A person of integrity is the same on the outside and on the inside. Such an individual can be trusted because he or she never veers from inner values, even when it might be expeditious to do so. Both of these virtues are needed for self-improvement and to better one’s self.
Dedication and magnanimity are another two values that can help better myself. Dedication means spending whatever time or energy is necessary to accomplish the task at hand. I improve my dedication by never falling short of my dedications and holding to my word. Magnanimity means giving credit where it is due. This also means taking credit for your own mistakes and faults rather then blaming other people around you. It is extremely necessary that you take credit for your own actions. Dedication and integrity are characteristics that you must up hold your whole life to succeed.
