Have you ever been going somewhere on a plane and ended up deserted on an island? Probably not well that’s what happened to this boys in LORD OF THE FLIES. When you leave a place, you always leave a piece of yourself behind. In Lord of The Flies I believe they are leaving all their virtues and believe behind.
When they got together from the conch Ralph became the democratic leader because they voted him in “office”. Over time Jack became infuriated with Ralphs leadership skills. He over threw there “government” and became a new primitive colony. The boys followed him because he showed results and Ralph ordered people around. All that Ralph did when he was in “power” was nothing, he made a shelter and that was it. Jack provided food, fire, security, and to the boys he provided fun. And to get to a 6-12 year olds heart and trust you have to make it fun.
Jack was the over all leader now. There’s no kink in the chain, and Ralph or anyone else will challenge is authority. Jacks first act of primitive acts were killing the pig, in a gruesome horrifying matter. His cruelly moved up on the ladder because he killed Simon for no apparent reason. Just because Simon thought different then Jack. Jack tricked Simon into a trap and they all killed him except for Piggy and Ralph, who still had the sanity to see that teamwork conquers all.
Even though Jack didn’t kill Piggy himself he still treated him like dirt when he was alive, jack praised the murderer of Piggy. This shows Jack’s true colors when he was on the island compared to when he was home. Jacks mindset was that only the strong will survive and everyone should have there own back. In a survival situation the true way to survive is teamwork. There’s no way around it and everyone has something to contribute to the group.
This shows that when people are left to fiend for themselves they revert to there primitive...
