What forms of trauma are ever-present in America today? What are successful treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorders?
How would one feel after suffering from several fractures due to an automobile accident? The individual is not going to be happy, nor are they going to feel like doing much of anything. After a person is involved in a trauma such as this, he or she makes adjustments to their every day lives, depending on how severe the result is. If the individual suffered from a broken arm, chances are they aren’t going to take it near as badly as a person who was paralyzed in the trauma. A broken arm will heal with time, but a person who is paralyzed will more than likely always have post-traumatic stress. I know an individual who was paralyzed in an automobile accident and I don’t think his outlook on life will ever be the same. He is always reflecting back on the days when he could walk and thinking about all of the things he could’ve changed. My friend tells me that he used to walk and never thought a thing about it, but now that he can’t he appreciates everything in life, even if it’s just sitting outside and letting the breeze blow across his face. Other traumas that are present in America today are the natural disasters that we have take place such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. These disasters not only kill people, they also destroy our crops, homeland, and put a damper on our financial circumstances.
