I know there are plenty of other students competing with me to get in to ---------. But choosing me over the other students is what you should do, because not only I get good grades, I also try my best to help other students too. Another reason would be because my attendance is fabulous. I am almost never absent. I'm not afraid of any stress because I already know how to overcome that. I had to go through my 3rd grade year without knowing any English at all. Here I am now, writing this essay 5 years later convincing one of the top schools in the city to accept me.

I have only been absent less than five times throughout a whole school year, every year. Even when I have a dentist appointment or things related to that, I usually tell my parents to make an appointment after school so that I don't miss any classwork. Even if I was absent one day, I will call my friends and ask them what I've missed. I tend to be very responsible by making sure that I make up anything I might have missed, so that I will never be falling behind.

I came to the United States when I was 7 years old. I didn't know English at all. Even asking to go to the bathroom was hard for me. Ever since I tried my best to learn it, and never gave up, I can now speak English fluently. Yet, I know there's still more to learn. You can never have enough knowledge since there’s always more to learn. Since I can survive through all the hardship even when I was younger, I'm definately sure that I can do the same for the rest of my life. I also enjoy learning with my fellow students too. I am always hard working and I try my best, too.
