What are Developing Countries?

Developing countries, are nations which have low living standard, underdeveloped economy (mainly lack of industrial base), and low Human Development Index (HDI) relative to other countries (Wikipedia, 8th June 8, 2013). Because of these reason, and their governments are trying to improve the economy, the industrial base and the life quality if their people in order to catch up with developed countries. Improving the education and the industrial skills are the most popular way to do that. However, most of the government are struggling with the problem that if they should invest on industrial skills training or education first. Most people think that the government should concentrate on developing education first. However, in my opinion, these two fields should be invest as the same time, because education is the most important, but it is for the long term, so the industry skills is good to develop the economy in short term, and provide money to develop the life quality.
Most developing countries have low education quality, and the people’s education level is low, some country have high illiteracy rate. The facility for education like school and university is old and lack of modern technology, so the way of teaching is inefficient. For example, in my country, Vietnam, at school, students mainly learn the theory and how to do exercises, and rarely have change to apply it in practical, even with university student. Besides that, the education program is out of date. Therefore, it is easy to understand that why developing country cannot have good economy and life quality. Without good education, people cannot predict there life, cannot ensure their future, and they must gamble their life. Nobody wants to do it. And if they do not have enough education and knowledge to ensure their life, they will not earn enough money to for them and their family, and suffer the poverty.
