a female born and raised in Santa Cruz, Bolivia where the first language is Spanish. I am the youngest of 2 brothers and 2 sisters. My mother passed away when I was eleven years old and that was a hard for me and my family. After having the bad experience of loosing my mother I realized that I did not have anybody who cared about me. So I started to be independent and responsible.
I arrived to USA three weeks ago and this is my first semester at Tulsa Community College. Also this is the first time out of my country and far away from my family. This time has been hard for me because I miss my family and friends; however I have been trying to fit in a new culture and society.
Back in my country Bolivia I was never worried about paying bills because my father used to pay everything for me. Now I have to get used to pay my own bills on time and I know that is not going to be difficult for me because I am a responsible girl.
Mi immediate goals are concerned primarily with my education. What is the most important to me is graduation from college and then I plan lo get my major in nursing. The reason for becoming a nurse is that I like to help people, know how to care for those who are ill makes me feel good.
Now that I am 20 years old, responsible and independent, I realized that I have to take charge of my life that is why I am focusing on my career preparation. My goals are simple but not as easy to accomplish. My dreams will come true if I just put time and give my hundred percent into them.
