'Which way do we go now?'griped Arleena childishly.Jasmine and Arleena were on a camping trip to Pulau Ubin.They were lost.Their group had paced ahead while the two girls had sauntered.They had been so busy babbling that they had not noticed the rest of the group was out of sight.They had sprinted to catch up but had lost their way.At first, they had squabbled blaming each other.After a while,they decided to continue walking trotting .Owing to Pulau Ubin being very small.They must meet someone or come to a building sooner or later.
Now it was night and black as pitch.A thunderstorm was brewing.Every few minutes a malformed of lightning would light up the verdant forest and cast grotesque shadows. Then there had been torrential rain and the girls had been soaked to the skin.Now,freezing with cold,petrified by the thunder and ear-splitting lightning,the girls had stopped at a cross-road.The track continued in the front of them.There was another track to their left and another track to their right.
"Which way do we go now?" Arleena moaned again.Jasmine squinted through the blinding rain. The track ahead was wide and clear.The track to the right went out of the forbidding forest and up the steep hill.The track to the left was narrow and overgrown with bushes and trees.It descended down the hill sharply and deep into the forbidding forest.The girls did not want to that dreadful way.As they were too tired to scale the hill they decided to plod straight on.
They staggered on for a couple of minutes.The roaring thunder ceased.The pouring rain lessened to a drizzle.Then Arleena halted.There was a low rumble.
"What's that?"Arleena asked skittishly.Jasmine was about to say it was the flashing thunder when their ears pricked up to the sound again .It was a low,manacing growl.It was the sound of a predator and it was right in front of them.The two girls nearly out of their skin with terror.The two baleful lights were like two sinister eyes.The malevalent...
