D.A.R.E

D.A.R.E

Alex Nickerson

During the D.A.R.E program we learned about several things. Some of the things we learned about is the use of tobacco, marijuana, and alcohol. We also learned about peer pressure and personal peer pressure. We also learned how to deal with each situation.
The D.A.R.E program taught me about tobacco. Tobacco can cause lung cancer to yourself, and to others who are around. Tobacco can also make you have trouble breathing, and make you more likely to get colds.
I also learned about marijuana and what it can do to you. Did you know marijuana can increase your risk to cancer? Also if you were to smoke marijuana it will effect your memory. The smoke from marijuana also contains 50% to 70% more cancer causing chemicals than tobacco smoke.
Alcohol was another addictive thing we learned about. Alcohol has many side effects that can cause you hurt yourself or others. When you drink an alcoholic drink it actually slows down your brain and body. Its not good to drink and mix it with medications, it can be very harmful to you.
D.A.R.E has also taught us how to deal with peer pressure. When someone asks you to do something that you don’t want to, I am not suppose to give in. Also we learned about personal peer pressure. An example of that is when you know you shouldn’t do something but you think about doing it anyway, like smoking a cigarette or drinking alcohol.
D.A.R.E has taught me so much and makes me never want to do tobacco or drink alcohol before the age 21. (alex add more to this paragraph about what you learned and any more to what else you want)
