Executive Summary
The Concept
Jamaica makes most of its money from tourist. Jamaica is known for their Blue Mountain Coffee. I thought it would be a perfect idea to attract the tourist in Jamaica by having a coffee shop. Within the past 20 years the coffeehouse has become a familiar feature of American life. Since many Americans travel to Jamaica I think a coffee shop would be a perfect business there. Every day, millions of Americans stop for an espresso-based coffee drink. People who would not have thought of spending more than 50 cents for a cup of coffee a few years ago now will pay $3 to $5 for their cappuccino, mocha latte or vanilla ice blended drink.
The specialty-coffee business is growing at a healthy pace. During the past 20 years, there has not been a single year, in which specialty coffee sales have not grown. In many years the increase has been in double digits. Also, no coffeehouse chains have failed during this time.
Although, Jamaican coffee maintains its place amongst the best gourmet coffees in the world, in contrast to the United States where on average 29 million Americans drink gourmet coffee beverages every day. In Jamaica coffee shops are just beginning to gain in popularity.
T&H Coffeehouse is going to be located in Kingston Jamaica; it’s the busiest Jamaican tourist destination. It will be a place where customers can come in and enjoy a hot or ice espresso-based coffee drink while also relaxing. T&H will have a drive thru window to better benefit the customers.
