UBC STUDENT WRITES A 52,438 WORD THESIS WITH NO PUNCTUATIONS - Personal thoughts
Upon reading the article based on a UBC student writing a 52,438 word thesis with no punctuation, I certainly found it intriguing, due to the fact that the student named Stewart had broke the rules of writing, as I have rarely seen a piece in which does not contain any punctuations. Evidently shown from the small extraction of his word thesis, enjambment have been used, this had in fact reflect Stewart's feelings and opinions base on colonialism. Briefly discussing the history of Nisga'a, throughout decades, they had experienced colonial oppression that include an excessive amount of cultural, social, political and legally enforced prohibition, until Nisga'a Final Agreement came to an effect on 2000, setting all the Nisga'a people on a new direction. In my personal opinion, I reckon through the use of enjambment, effectively demonstrates Stewart's eager to express his numerous ideas and concepts, but also somehow displaying his inability to retrain his thoughts from flowing, possibly conveying how he personally witness or experienced the struggle for freedom from colonialism. Furthermore, making himself standing in a strong position. In addition, as Stewart breaks the rules of writing, exhibits himself being a risk taker, stepping out of the border, as he experiments around with the language.

Although I may admire Stewart's bravery, and the fact that his thesis may be effective in terms of catching audience's attention, through his unique and attentional errors he made. Personally I would not prefer his strategy of writing a academia piece. Looking at the full version of his thesis, as I skim through it's contents, what Stewart's format of writing had bought to an disadvantage is making it more strenuous for the audience to identify or fully catching on on what he is trying to express. Audience certainly need to spend more time to get used and to make...
