An Environmental Threat Global Warming: Or
A Political Scam
Global Warming is an issue that has been at the center of a debate for the last twenty years. Every politician has a different plan to help and reduce global warming, but some people do not think that global warming is even real. They believe that global warming does not exist and that it is one big scam created by the politicians. On the other side of the argument, scientists have satellite footage to cross reference it with previous footage to show that the Arctic glaciers are melting. The fact that each side of the argument has a valid point, keeps the debates heated and interesting.
The group that believes global warming is a serious problem are the environmentalists. This group is mostly made up of democrats because most of their views support our environment. They are very confident of their beliefs because they have science on their side. Scientists use satellite footage to study the Polar Ice caps and they can see that the ice caps are melting. According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), the Earth’s climate is changing. It is getting significantly warmer. The melting of the ice caps from this climate change is a very bad thing. According to the movie “An Inconvient Truth”, if these glaciers melt, it could cause the whole world to flood. This has the potential possibility of leading to another ice age. This could happen because the Earth’s Surface Temperature Analysis, done by NASA, shows that the world’s surface temperature rose from 1.2 to 1.4° F since 1900. Most of this temperature change comes from an increasingly high amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere Greenhouse gases are gases that composed mostly of water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone.
