Better School = Better Education??
Minnetonka High School is ranked within the Top 100 schools in the nation. Minnetonka is a great school; it has a great attendance rating and an outstanding education program. From helping the depressed to the mentally challenge, The Minnetonka School program will stand right along side of you and help you with any problems you may have. The way Minnetonka High School is set up is if you want to try you will succeed but what about all of the kids that have ADD, ADHD, or depression, where motivation can be blocked by the effects of having these problems. Minnetonka School System is an empire; it just needs to be more accepting to more students. Minnetonka could change its way by becoming more accepting to kids with ADD, ADHD, and/or depression, creating higher standards for teachers, and by treating every student differently academically.
The first change I would put into action would be making all Minnetonka school districts more accepting to students that have ADD, ADHD, or depression. I would have schools be more interactive with their community and make school interactive with their students. Schools could become more interactive with their students by having larger group assemblies or have more guest speakers come in and talk to their students. This year we had two guest speakers and I noticed that they were very helpful because for the next week after that students were talking about the assembly and not in a bad way.
The second change I would put into action would be creating higher standards for teachers. Society has turned so demanding for the students but everyone has forgotten about who teaches the students. The new standards for all public school teachers should be as followed: at least a 3.0 grade percent average all the way through their high school career and at least 6 years of college.
