Changing Odysseus
In the epic poem, The Odyssey, written by Homer, Odysseus shows that he is a dynamic character. After the devasting war, Odysseus faces hardships while he goes back home to Ithaca. He experiences many challenges that led to him becoming a changed man. He starts off as a careless, reckless man then changed into a more careful person with extra caution.

In the Sirens, Odysseus told his men what was to come that was foretold by Circe. When they face these creatures, they can be careful and cautious to see what is going on and they won’t start paniking (ll,686 to 692). After sailing from the Sirens, Odysseus faces a new challenge, but with his alertness combined with his slyness he overcame the challenge. Odysseus was heading into a dilemma and he told his crew members that they went through a lot together and they got out of their hardships. They also have the King of Gods, Zeus, to help them (ll, 766 to 781). Odysseus had to be very careful on what decision had to choose. If he goes through the Scylla, then 6 of his men will die. But, if he goes through Charybdis then it would probably take everyone or no one at all. He chooses the Scylla. (ll, 803 to 814).Odyseeus knew...
