Immigration of the United States has been an issue that has both benefited the country and caused dilemma. While there are many good qualities of immigration, there are also negative aspects as well. Immigration has help developed our Nation, we can look back in history and see how immigration has help our country with the building of essential infrastructure and brought the talents of many immigrants to the forefront of American business. However, immigration has never had a well-developed system in place causing great frustration to not only the immigrants themselves but also to the American people.

The immigration system of this country must be reformed to allow well deserving immigrants the chance at the “American Dream” and preventing immigrants from entering the United States illegally wasting taxpayers’ dollars on immigration detention, deportation, public services such as welfare and food stamps and or healthcare.

Immigration is a federally regulated program; the federal government sets the policies that all states must adhere too. However, there are many loopholes in the current system that allow for the system to be ineffective. States are required to follow the laws of the federal government in regard to immigration however; each state has different levels of severity with immigration. Border States will need more resources than in non-border states as they are on the forefront of immigration. The relationship between all levels of government need to understand the strains and lack of resources some states have in dealing with immigration issues. Currently many of the border state described above are in deep financial trouble and do not have the funding to run border security and or pay law enforcement to detain and deport illegal immigrants nonetheless provide public service benefits such as education, health, or welfare needs. “Whether Congress decides to grant them official guest-worker status or not, they are here in force, and...
