Hydrogen Fuel Cell

Hydrogen Fuel Cell

Hydrogen – Fuel of the Future
Throughout history, many inventions have been created. Science and modern inventions have indeed been a blessing for mankind. For instance, Thomas Edison was known for his outstanding inventions that made a tremendous impacted on society. Edison's greatest challenge was the development of practical incandescent, electric light. Although it took many years, Thomas Edison finally found the last piece of puzzle that perfected his invention. Even though that was history, more inventions are being developed daily; therefore, humans are becoming more dependent on them. Corresponding to when fossil fuels were discovered underground, it became an exceptional source of fuel. These fossil fuels are burnt to generate the energy required to complete various tasks. However, the Earth is facing a significant amount of problems due to the uses of fossil fuels. Due to fossil fuels being a non-renewable resource, it is being drained slowly, and before everybody knows it… there will be no more oil. These problems are forcing humans to find an alternative source of energy, like the idea of hydrogen fuel cells, in order to avoid the unnecessary disasters that lie ahead.
As time goes on, technological advances require a more efficient source of power. After much research, leading scientist on this issue came across the idea of using hydrogen fuel cells. This power source takes in the most abundant element in the universe, hydrogen, and yields immense power without combustion or pollution. However, to be able to convert the use of fossil fuels to hydrogen fuel, three crucial challenges need to be overcome, the technology of fuel cells themselves needs to be mastered, the production of hydrogen must be more prolific, and the storage of said hydrogen must be done safely. A fuel cell uses a chemical process, similar to that in a battery, to produce electricity. Hydrogen will flow into a cell from a storage tank, then this fuel cell will generate the...
