I. Introduction
A. What, you may ask, is the leading cause of death in the United States? It’s not murder nor Cancer. If you guessed Cardiovascular Disease , you guessed right. According to the American Heart Association, 910,000 Americans still die of heart disease annually, And more than 70 million Americans live every day with some form of heart disease, which can include high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, stroke, angina (chest pain), heart attack and congenital heart defects. The American Heart Association stated “by 2010 heart disease will affect the lives of 40 million Americans of the age 65 or older.”

B. Therefore, today I will be informing on Congestive Heart Failure.

C. During the course of my presentation, I will examine: What Congestive Heart Failure is and what the signs and symptoms are, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention.

II. Body
A. Lets begin by looking at what CHF is and what the signs and symptoms are.
1.Congestive Heart Failure (A.K.A. CHF) is a condition in which the heart can't pump enough blood to the body's other organs.
.a. This can result from narrowed arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle, coronary artery disease or past heart attack, high blood pressure heart valve disease due to past rheumatic fever or other causes, heart defects present at birth or congenital heart defects, infection of the heart valves and/or heart muscle itself endocarditis, which is the inflammation of the inner muscle of the heart and/or myocarditis which is the inflammation of the middle muscle of the heart.
.b. The "failing" heart keeps working but not as efficiently as it should. People with heart failure can't exert themselves because they become short of breath and tired.
