Military Cuts

The US defense budget is filled with uselessness. It’s packed tight with all sorts of potholes and paradoxes. It is very surprising to me that so many people jump to their feet to defend the military budget. Not because they defend us but because for the most part the budget is spent on things that don’t defend us at all. Not to mention that the US military is the largest socialist economy in the world. It is the least corrupt use of government funds, yet most of it still serves the least amount of purpose.

There are more people in the US marching bands, than serving our country. Much of the money is not spent on the men and women risking their lives, but instead on useless spending for the sake of spending. A huge chunk of the money spent in the defense budget is buying new planes and tanks. Planes and tanks that just sit on bases all over the world. They serve no purpose, we continue to make and make, with no use. A lot of times congress sets money aside in bills to pay military factory workers in their home states. Why are we wasting this money just to watch a tank rust. This is a waste of resources with soul purpose to create jobs. Why don’t we put those people to work elsewhere, why don’t we pay them to help work on innovative ideas, or help build something to further kids education. Why is the only way the government can funnel money to them is in a factory making war machinery. Never the less, they continue to send money, and they’ll continue to take it. Cutting the defense budget would do wonders for assuring they couldn’t waste money on useless things.

Furthermore,”to a man with a hammer, every problem is a nail.” Dwight Eisenhower . We spend all this money on military, it’s no wonder we’re involved in so many wars. If you spend all that money on war, I would expect that you participate in it often. The US goes off to war just to spark the economy and cause a need for more money to go back into the economy.
