Logical Argument
The issue of gays and lesbianism, otherwise known has been a topic of debate for a long time. There are people who have argued the issue from a religious point of view and therefore condemning it. Others have taken a similar approach to support it and every human’s right to choose who to love or not. Other argue against it based on nature, however, whichever approach those against the practice use to condemn it, those in support of this sexual orientation counter attack the arguments. Most of the arguments against gay or lesbians have no supporting evidence, which subjects them to criticism from supporters of homosexuality. The issue of human right of freedom of choice also comes into play in the debate, which makes it difficult to decide whether indeed gis an immoral practice. This raises the question whether there is any logical argument for or against homosexuality.
Curtis (2012) argues that there is a logical argument against homosexuality based on the fact that man cannot make love to another man, and a woman cannot make love to another woman. They further argue that it was God’s will that human procreate and homosexuality seems to get in the way of that desire of the Almighty. This nature of things cannot be changed and therefore, they condemn homosexuality and term it immoral and an act against God’s will and religious teachings.
Others argue that even animals do not display homosexual issues. They further argue that having sex with animals, bestiality is illegal and immoral, which implies sex between two makes or females should also be condemned and categorized together with bestiality. This is mainly because; love aside, the main reason for having sex is procreation.
