Station Commander Course - What to Expect

Station Commander Course - What to Expect

What I expect from the Station Commander Course?
I am a NCO that comes from 3rd Brigade and I am under the Team Recruiting, since I have been a recruiter I have done the Team Recruiting. The aspects of my job are not nearly as difficult as a legacy recruiter so I don’t have near the experience of some detail recruiters. I have picked up pointers along the way about things here and there but not enough to truly know how to run a recruiting station properly.
What I am expecting is to learn the proper way to run a station, from leading my Soldiers in the right direction to be successful recruiters. I have been in many high demanding leadership positions in the operational army but out here is a different beast so I want to be successful and have my guys really look at me like I know what I am doing. I am expecting capable leaders from the field to show me the “way”, give me insight into there heads and share knowledge of the good, bad, or indifferent. When I walk away I want to feel that my foundation is strong and morally sound.
I expect to learn who my peers are and take knowledge from them, the knowledge that I can apply to the force to make the quality of life a better quality than it already is, learn new ideas and work them to fit my people’s needs. Be a good listener and a good talker, enjoy my time, and take away some meaningful relationships that could help me or my people in the future. I expect to take back knowledge that I can transfer to my people to make them more capable Soldiers, so they too can pass knowledge down to there subordinates one day. All in all I expect to know my job, know how to handle high pressure situations, know how to successfully brief my senior leaders but most importantly be a capable leader in the eyes of my subordinates, peers, and seniors.
