The Book
On a sunny fall day in a tiny farmhouse in Montana, a tall brown haired girl by the name of Spencer was opening her mail. She dreaded having to look through the mail this time of year because she knew that soon she would get a letter inviting her to go back to Florida. Back to the place she dreaded most. As a child Spencer was always second best compared to her sister Melissa. Melissa was a child actress so they moved out to Hollywood to pursue her career. Spencer being only a child was forced to leave her friends, family, home and school behind. Now she had to go back to Florida and face the family she had walked out on. She would have never gone if it wasn’t for her dear grandma who was turning ninety-six.
The flight was long and repulsive but yet it didn’t feel long enough. As she got off the plane she saw a girl holding her luggage and jumping with joy, it was Melissa. The ride to her old home was filled with the mindless chatter of her older sister and when they arrived at the house her family came to greet her. To everyone else the house was a mansion but to Spencer the house was a ghost reminding her of her childhood spent alone. Little did she know that things were about to get even worse.
Dinner was of meat, potatoes and a spaghetti type noodle. It was mostly small talk until her their mother brought up why Spencer moved away. When Spencer tried to explain her mother started to yell and throw food at Spencer. In the end Spencer was covered in food.
Spencer stormed back to her room laid on the bed and fell into a deep sleep. It wasn’t until 1:07 that she woke up and wandered into the library to find a book to calm down her nerves. The sight she saw was a shocking one, there laying unconscious was her sister holding the forbidden book. Melissa had always wanted to know what was in the book and know she had finally done it.
The book didn’t have a name but when they were kids they were told to never take the book. Spencer had no reason why...
