Convenience is a word that is best used to describe the American lifestyle. It has become a vital part of the American culture and the McDonalds Corporation greatly benefits from it. Let’s face it, everyone recognizes the friendly clown who lives under the golden arches; he is known as Ronald McDonald. McDonalds has become an American phenomenon and society has allowed it to take over the fast food industry. No matter which country you live in, chances are you find a McDonalds within a few miles. McDonalds has clearly become a force to be reckoned with and studies show that it is the most profitable fast food restaurant to date. Although McDonalds is an American favorite, it has also become one of the factors to the problem with obesity in America. No matter how you justify it, fast food is simply an unhealthy choice; however, McDonalds has used advertisement and marketing to its advantage to keep its customers wanting more. Through its marketing strategies, brand loyalty, and familiar slogan, McDonalds has become a global empire aimed for the innocence of America.

The McDonalds Corporation has become a worldwide success due to its strategic marketing thereby providing brand loyalty. McDonalds prime target market is children. The majority of the McDonalds commercials seen on television involve happy children eating their happy meal, playing with their toy given inside their meal, and seemingly looking healthy and active. Doesn’t this describe the perfect setting for any child? In addition to targeting children, McDonalds also targets young adult athletes by being a sponsor for the Olympics. Every two years when the Olympics are aired on national television you see at least one commercial utilizing a pro-athlete to advertise the ever so popular McDonalds value meal.
