Shakespeare's story of Prince Hamlet is about a man who grieves overs his father's death and who's problems only start to flourish after this point on. Hamlet's father, the late king of Denmark's ghost appears to three guards numerous times, portraying that of a bad omen, or a dark shadow that might be cast upon Denmark. The ghost does not speak to these guards and the guards believe the King's ghost will speak to his son. When Hamlet encounters the ghost, it turns out to truly be the ghost of his father. The King's ghost tells Hamlet that his death was no accident, but a murder, by the King's brother, Claudius. The ghost asks Hamlet to avenge his father's death and bring his ghost to peace. Hamlets vows to avenge his father's death some way or another. Claudius, who is indeed the late King Hamlet's brother, is deemed as king and brings many problems on Hamlet. The grief Hamlet feels over losing his father only worsens with the awaiting marriage of his mother, Gertrude to Claudius. Hamlet is depressed and overwhelmed by all he has to go through that he only leaves room for sadistic tones in reaction to the rest of the world. Ophelia, who is supposedly the women who Hamlet loves, comes into play when her brother, Laertes, and her father Polonius, begin to voice their disapproval of their love affair. Laertes promises Ophelia his love for her is shallow and her father only reinforces that thought as well. As the play presses on, Hamlet develops a plan on how to avenge his father's death. When actors come from far away to the castle to put on a show for the court and its friends, Hamlet makes a special request to act out his father's murder and see Claudius' reaction to such. At this time Hamlet has offended and spoken insults to Ophelia, claiming he never did love her, while during the play, Hamlet begins to flirt and make advances toward Ophelia, leaving her vulnerable and confused.
