Victory Against Our Rivals

Over the past decade, the Phillipsburg High School boys soccer team has played Easton Area High School for a trophy. Easton Area High School is our rival school, and the rivalry has been going on for over a hundred years. This year, Easton's soccer team ended up champions for their District.
The date was November 11, 2010. We had arrived at Easton High School roughly around 6:15 pm. Before we got off the bus, we yelled, "I believe that we will win!" The team afterwards was pumped and we all got off the bus, stood in a two lines and marched towards the field we were going to play that night. Everyone was getting ready and some of the players were already warming up. While I was warming up with the other captain, Sean McGann, the referees showed up and they called for the captains. Sean, Justin and myself shook hands with the other captains. I was speaking captain for the team that night and I had to call the coin toss. Throughout all season I have been wrong on every coin toss and with my luck I called the toss wrong again. Once everything was done, it was time to begin the game. The whole team gathered like penguins with our hands held up, and Sean yelled, "On Three Liners! One, two, three" and the whole team yelled, "Liners!" The starting eleven took the field and formed a circle to talk for a brief moment before the game.
As soon as we were ready and our formation was set, the whistle was blown and the game began. During the first couple of minutes, the team was down their throats. We were not going to let them counter attack us. As our forwards took shots, the crowd screamed with intensity, giving us more of a spark to start playing even more aggressive. Sean and I knew that Easton was going to counter attack us as much as possible. Before long, Easton finally got the ball away from us and they were moving towards our goal.
