College Life
College, the last step before entering the real world and grabbing a slice of that pie called life. Since the start of High School, students are often told that College is going to be a great experience, but the catch is that it’s going to be a lot more difficult than High School. I will admit that High School wasn’t all that easy for me. I was too worried about girls, friends and being a class clown. I graduated by the skin of my teeth and after that I made a vow to my family God and most importantly myself that I wouldn’t make the same mistakes that I did in High School. I’m going to come in strong and finish strong and that is going to be my motto until it’s over. This being my first semester ever in College I have to ask myself why am I taking this class and why did I decide to come to college? What are my goals for this class, this semester and how do I accomplish these goals. What would I do if I dropped out of school all together? Answering these questions is not only going to make me successful in school, but successful in life.
In high school English was always my strongest subject. I scored high on my EOI and my ACT score in reading wasn’t too bad. When I chose my major in liberal studies, it said I needed to take English Comp 1. I was actually happy I get to take this class. I love English I love to write and read. When I read I imagine myself as actually being in the story, it’s like a movie in my head. When I write I love seeing my thoughts come to life on paper. Sometimes in my spare time I like to write songs and novels about superheroes I have created. Reading and writing was never a problem for me in high school, the only problem I had was, knowing why I needed to go to college.
All my life I’ve been told that I need to go to college to make something of myself. I used to think to myself, isn’t my decision if I want to go or not? Music has always been my passion, so I wanted to pursue a career in that and become a famous...
