Abstract
My primary goal in applying for this program is to prepare myself for a future career in Health Care Management. For the last 4 years, I have been very committed to pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management with Saint Leo University. I have had a rewarding experience with SLU and with my belief in this University; I know the Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Health Care Management program will provide me with an excellent foundation in the area of organizational management and planning. With a MBA, I will be well prepared to lead a very promising career as a Hospital Administrator. While I have no doubt that the program will push me to my limits, I am confident that I can face the rigorous challenges posed by graduate study and thrive under the demanding environment that advanced studies entail.
After graduating from high school in 1998, I decided to leave my small hometown in Tennessee and join the Air Force, where I would spend ten years serving as a Human Resource Manager. During this time, I married my husband, whom is also on Active Duty, and we started our family. Shortly after having our second son, we decided it was best to have at least one parent that could provide stability during times of deployments. I chose to end my ten-year service and focus on the needs of our family. Of course, I decided soon after to begin working on my bachelor’s degree full time. Thankfully, I was blessed to have served with fellow airman that had attended Saint Leo University and had high regards for their experience. Thus, making my decision to attend SLU pretty easy, and I have spent the past four years steadily working on my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Management.
I am currently completing my Internship, which is my last requirement to graduate, and this experience has allowed me the ability to interact with experienced health care professionals. My years in the Air...
