America In Iraq
America will always put itself where it does not necessarily belong. For example: helping Iraq build its government. The reason for this is because as a country America is still just a baby to other countries. It has not been there as long as other countries such as England, France, or Spain. Though in the short time America has been a country, it has built something out of nothing. So as Americans we tend to look at other countries that have not progressed as fast as we have and feel the need to make those countries in to “mini Americas”. Although I understand why we are there and I agree we should lend a helping hand to other countries; I do not believe we should be making another “mini America.” Iraq is the way it is because of religious differences. No matter the amount of work the American government does to improve Iraq’s government, there is nothing American can do to change the hate and discrimination that divides Iraq. Iraq will not be able to grow as a country until they no longer let religion, racism, and sexism divide their country. This goes for all of the Middle East. America can preach their ways all they want, but the only thing that will change Iraq is a new generation. A well-educated, nonracial group of Iraqis will help mold their country. I believe if America is going to help Iraq in any way, they should help with education. To build a great future, you need to start with the youth.
