As Dorian grey was once seen as the beautiful, innocent, charming man, he provided basil with a marvalist portrait of him. Wilde uses a simile “his face in the great cool lilac – blossom, feverishly drinking in their perfume as if it had been wine” to represent Dorian is a representation of beauty, has connotation of the way he feels intoxicated by the richness and purity of the nature around him, totally absorbed of the richness around him. As nature is used to represent is innocence of a young charming man. Dorian grey is a representation of the way, individuals may experience a rewarding and beneficial relationship with nature.. As they are young, innocent and have not yet been corrupted by change, growing older. As to American x history, Derek was once seem as a bright and intelligent young boy, and was seen as his mothers hope.
