READING AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Tabasum Kawos
English 3 period 1

Although I never had any interest in reading ever since I was a child, I was read a lot of books. My favorite book my mom read to me was “Bike Riding”. It was about a little girl who couldn’t ride her new bike that she got for her birthday because it didn’t have training wheels. I loved that book because it was full of pictures and it was a very inspiring story. When I was about 8 years old my teacher asked us to read a short chapter book called “Friendship”. It was about two boys who were first enemies at school and as their parents make them spend more time together and they end up best friends. That book was a fun a book however; it didn’t bring me any closer to liking books. As the years went on I had to read books for school yet I still had no interest in them. In 5th grade our teacher asked us to pick a non- fiction book and write what we thought of it in a 2 page essay. Since I had to do that project, I asked the librarian for what she thought I should read. She told me to pick a book called “Chinese Cinderella”. Chinese Cinderella was about a little girl was known to be a burden to her family because we she was born her mom dies. I was so into this book that I finished it in just 2 nights. That book was what brought my attention to non-fiction books. I love reading non-fiction books because they give me a feeling that this really happened so I am more interested. Today I don’t read that much because I don’t have to. For me, reading is not so fun, however, if I do read I prefer non-fiction book only. Though I don’t like reading, if I have nothing to do I will go to the local library and pick a short book to read. I feel very relaxed and focused when reading. Reading books is a great way to learn more about something or become more creative.
