Barriers in Critical Thinking
We all have barriers in critical thinking. In general we have internal and external one that we
struggle with everyday life.
How would you define friends? Ridel (2015) stated, “Your friends might have discussed the important of becoming a critical thinker, and also served as role models who inspired you to develop your critical thinking skills” (p.28).
I will overcome this shaping agent is to be able to tell when they are being negative. You can also help then to become a better critical thinker by asking question. Why they believe that way. Another way to overcome the external barrier is to get better friends. You can be more and tell friends how you they can become a critical thinker. That is how to overcome this barrier.
My Ridel (2015) stated, “Emotion is your state of mind physical health and the amount of stress you experience can negatively impact your ability to think critically” (p. 37).
How I would modify my internal barrier Emotions? I would keep calm and take my time on answering the question. This one barriers trips up even the best critical thinker. So I don’t feel bad when I do slip.
