James Jay Carafano Article
In response to James Jay Carafano article, I would have to agree with Obama decision, as far as negotiating and having meeting with Iran. In this article Carafano talks about how Iran wants to go nuclear for personal reasons. Obama, the US president has been negotiating with them to ensure they don’t follow through with this plan. Carafano, in this article obviously believes that Obama’s decision to negotiate with them is a horrible idea and is making them want the bombs even more. I see this from a different stand point.
One of the main reason I believe Obama made the right decision by considering war is because we can’t let these bombs get in the hands of possible terrorist. American has mourned and suffered many times from terrorist from Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. Allowing them to retrieve these nuclear bombs is like giving a criminal the key to a bank.
Although they’ve made reasonable statements for why they are trying to complete the task of getting these bombs, we just can’t take any chances on this situation. According to Carafano, three key strategic purposes for having the bombs are the following: “The first is so the mullahs can continue to oppress their own people without fear of intervention from the outside. Second reason, Iran wants to go nuclear is that it believes such weaponry will allow it to pursue a much more muscular policy in establishing dominance in the region.” Thirdly, they believe it will allow them to hold the great powers hostage.
It seems as if the United States is in a lose-lose situation, but we can’t just let this happen. I feel we must do what we have to do to manage this situation and we must pray as a nation that we can solve these immature actions of Iran. Although I should say, Barack has to use his skills to find a way to come up with a reasonable solution for this problem. He can’t do it alone though, others in the house will all have to share some input on how we as a nation can...
