Of Mice And Men
Have you ever seen a huge looking person walked beside a small but sharp looking person? What a strange pair? That’s what people would have thought. Could you have thought the huge person was mentally challenged because he drags his feet along while he walks? Can you believe if I tell you that, that short person was actually bossing him around. Well, in this book called Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck. There is actually a similar situation to this, where the character George is small but witty? And Lennie is mentally challenge but overgrown in size.
I’ve compared myself to George. I think he’s similar to me because he always wants to protect Lennie. George always go through the trouble of getting Lennie out of trouble. Wherever Lennie is, trouble is sure to follow behind. Lennie always try to perfect the things he does by copying George. Im sure Lennie looks up to George. In the story, George said, “ Course Lennie’s a god damn nuisance most of the time ”( pg 41).
I think I’m similar to George in life because I’m also protective of my brother and sister. I set an example to them. With George and Lenny, they are like brothers. I have a powerful influence amongst my younger brother and sister because sometimes what ever I do, they could sometimes copy. So I have watch out and be careful sometimes , so I don’t set a bad example for them.
I’m also similar to George because I always stay mentally strong. I also have dreams and plans for the future ahead just like George. He has dreams of owning a piece of land. In the story George said. “O.K. some day we’re gonna have a little house and couple of acres an’ a cow and some pigs and-.” (Pg.14). George always think positive and tries to imagine his future is going to better than what he has now. I do the same and try to look ahead in the future.
