John Wayne Gacy
The early childhood of John Wayne Gacy, was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 17, 1942. He was the middle child of a blue collar family. His parents were Danish and Polish. He had a normal childhood with the exception of a violent relationship between and his father that had left him with a desire for his father’s approval. He was an abusive child; Gacy’s father was a drunk. His father would beat him and his siblings if they were believed to have misbehaved, beat the children with a razor strap. To include his Gacy’s mother that his father would physically assaulted as well. “Gacy's sister Karen would later say that the siblings learned to toughen up against the beatings, and that Gacy would not cry” (Sullivan & Maiken, 2000).
John Wayne Gacy as an Adolescence suffered from alienation at school form the other children; because due to a congenital heart condition he was unable to play with other children. This was only looking down upon by his father as another failing. Conflicted over his sexuality, Gacy experienced great turmoil over his sexuality, when he realized he was sexually attracted to men.
As an adult John Wayne Gacy, worked as a fast food chain manager. Not graduating high school by the 1960s became a building contractor. In the 1970s in the Chicago suburbs he would also became a democratic precinct captain. Gacy was well liked in his community. At children's parties Gacy would Performer as Pogo the clown. He would also organize community events to include cultural gatherings. Gacy had been married two times and divorced two times. After his last marriage he came to the realization of his homosexual preferences He also had one child of his own along with stepchildren.
