In today’s society, to some marijuana is looked upon as a common social past-time. Even though only a select few will admit to smoking it, there is an inner love that comes out when the scent of marijuana is in the air; bringing back old memories. Why not legalize marijuana, when there is more that can be done when having control over it?
The number of crimes caused by marijuana is very high because of it being currently illegal. How many times have you watched T.V. and seen drug bust or fields being burned by police were marijuana is grown by organized crime. There’re countless drug busts that happen right next door. Just imagine your kids outside one day getting mixed in the crossfire of a drug deal gone bad. The price of a death of a child is horrific when it’s about a misunderstanding over a dime-bag. We are throwing money down the drain in figuring ways to combat the importation of marijuana, rather than investing in it to create jobs for the people. Personally I would much rather see the profit of marijuana in the hands of our government to help the economy, rather in the hands of a drug-dealer paying for somebody’s death. Medical marijuana is currently available, so why not profit by legalizing all marijuana and making it social marijuana.
