Week 7 1.
Building an Ethical Organization
The organization that I am developing would be servicing teens who are pregnant or who have have a child and are homeless and need assistance. The organization will be able to provide a residential living environment . The teens will will also be granted the opportunity to earn their diploma or GED. They will receive parenting education, counseling and any type of therapy that is needed. We will also provide childcare and assist the mothers with career development and job readiness training. The teens will be allowed to remain in the living facility until the age of 19. They will be given a counselor who will work one on one with them. This will give them a better feeling that they are safe and are able to have that personal help from someone. The organization will receive funding through the state, private donations and government grants. We will also incorporate volunteers that will be able to assist us such as mothers, grandmothers who want to help in guiding the teens. The volunteers of course would receive the necessary training in order to follow the state licensing regulations.
The mission statement will be that we will foster childbirth and parenting and work to break the cycle of abuse and poverty by providing a caring home, education, and support services. We want to transform the lives of the pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children. The mission statement sends notice to the community that we will not turn our backs on these teens because of them becoming pregnant. There may be different circumstances for each teen that brought them to being pregnant. A teen should not be turned away because of their situation. The goal is to help these teens in knowing that even though they have gotten pregnant, or even have children, does not mean that their lives stop. They will be given the tools to complete their education and to be able to take care of themselves...
