The organizational challenges of today are enormous. Managers are under immense pressure to deal with the challenges of globalization, competition from other organizations, acclimating to the evolution of the digital age, constant examination of moral integrity and the acceptance of diversity (Daft 2013). Dealing with these challenges requires the collaborative efforts of all members of the organization. One of the most efficient ways in dealing with these challenges is through the process of information sharing. Information sharing or shared information as it commonly known, provides valuable information on the traits of the organization stakeholders.
As one can expect, all organizations were not formed on the same day. Some organizations have been around longer than others and have established stronger operational foothold. These types of organizations are generally characterized as efficient operating organizations. On the reserve continuum, other organizations are still in the process of developing to create a strong grip on their operational environment. These organizations common business operating practices are open to constant enhancement. These types of organizations are characterized as learning organizations. Learning organizations relied heavily on relevant data to analyze, adjust and refine operational practices (Antonoaie & Antonoaie, 2010). To achieve the same level of success that the efficient operating organizations have accomplished, players in the organizational structure of learning organizations must understand the behavior of their stakeholders. Understanding the behavior of stakeholders for learning organizations requires the sharing of information, which makes shared information more vital for learning organizations than efficient operating organizations.
