In this report I will be describing the benefits and opportunity of internet marketing activities for Nike. I will also be explaining how internet marketing made Nike more efficient, effective and successful as well as the global challenges they are facing when using internet marketing finally I will be evaluating the effectiveness of internet marketing in meeting customer needs for Nike. Businesses have introduced many opportunities and benefits for customers by increasing availability of products and services on the internet to them.
The first opportunity I will be describing is social media such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram etc. The use of social media will allow Nike to attract new customers. This is because already existing customer would be giving reviews (Good or bad) on Nike product and services, this will attract people and also when Nike advertise/promote their business on the pages. For example a customer can give a review on a new product on Facebook or twitter which means their followers would see this and then buy the product and give their own review. With this cycle Nike would be gaining customers every hour. However they are drawbacks that could affect the business such has Nike having a bad review from a customers, this would spread fast and it would affect Nike because they could lose existing and potential customers, which means they would lose profits.
On the other hand if Nike choose to promote their business offline this would cost them more and they wouldn’t be able to get through to customers the way they would’ve online. For example if Nike was it hand out leaflet or put on poster, people might not collect it because they in a rush, which means that they wouldn’t be paying attention to the posters as well
