Probation means testing of behavior or abilities. In a legal sense, an offender on
probation is ordered to follow certain conditions set forth by the court, often
under the supervision of a probation officer. Offenders are ordinarily required to
refrain from subsequent possession of firearms, and may be ordered to remain
employed, abide to a curfew, live at a directed place, and obey. Probation and
parole in future officers supervise offenders on probation or parole through
personal contact with the offenders and their families. Instead, of requiring
offenders to come to them, many officers meet offenders in their homes and at
their places of employment or therapy. Probation and parole agencies also seek
the assistance of community organizations, such as religious Institutions
neighborhood groups, and local residents, to monitor the behavior of many
offenders. Some offenders are required to wear an electronic device so officers
can monitor their location and movements. Probation and parole officers may
arrange for offenders to get substance abuse rehabilitation or job training. I

save tax money, allows the less serious offender the opportunity to remain with
family and friends, remain productive in society, contribute back to society versus
taking from society as tax money would be needed to incarcerate, and allow for
rehabilitation to be implemented. Individuals on ISP are those who most likely
