Christianity Challenges Adherents to Live Out Their Foundational Beliefs

At the heart of every religion exists fundamental beliefs, foundations on which that religion is based upon to shepherd adherents in the right way. Christianity, like all other religions, has many foundational beliefs that challenge adherents to live in accordance with Christian teachings and practices. Belief in the Trinity, the Resurrection, eternal life and Salvation serve to guide and teach adherents as well as provide a framework to practice their faith in a way that reveals the true face of God. Christian core beliefs compel adherents to live everyday in the spirit of Christ while also keeping faithful to the Covenant that they have with God. Every Christian belief and practice is sourced from this everlasting Covenant where God choose to redeem Christians and grant them eternal life with him in the Kingdom of God. Christians believe in the New Covenant wherein Jesus was sacrificed on the cross for Christian salvation, “The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah... I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.  I will be their God, and they will be my people."


The Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes are major pillars for Christian behaviour that serve to guide adherents in how they live their lives. The way they conduct their daily lives should be in accordance to the Commandments and Beatitudes while also living with an attitude that Jesus calls everyone to posses. The attainment of everlasting life is dependent on a proper relationship with God and the way to be in the right relationship is to behave in a Christian like manner. Faith alone (sola fide) or simple reading of scripture (sola scriptura) are not enough to gain entry into the heavenly Kingdom, rather Christians believe that a combination of faith, scripture and good works will build a proper relationship with God, putting their beliefs into practical action will bring the Kingdom of God...
