In Mexico, their respect for their elders is astounding, for example; they celebrate different traditions like the Day of the Dead and Cinco de Mayo. In the United States and Canada almost all people have lost their respect for elders and have forgotten how important it is to remember their place and what they have done. The Mexican school system is organized into Basic Education, Secondary Education and Higher Education. Basic Education comprises preschool, primary school, and lower secondary school. Preschool covers children aged three through five and is generally provided in three grades. Preschool is free. Lower-secondary education is considered part of basic education and is compulsory upon the states. For entry, students are required to have successfully completed six years of primary education.
