Obesity is a term used to describe somebody who is very overweight with a high degree of body fat. Obesity has always been a problem in the Caribbean especially in countries like Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and It is time for us to try and decrease this high percentage rate. During the next paragraph, I will briefly explain my position on Obesity as well as causes of Obesity and in the last paragraph I will give a suitable and practical solution to this ongoing problem.
Obesity has been an ongoing problem and my position on it, is that it a chronic disease that is affecting the Caribbean furthermore the world. It is a disease that is killing our fellow citizens too long and we need to find a way to solve this problem although it is not as serious as cases in the USA and other countries. It is our responsible to take care of body because if we don’t no one else will do it for us. You’re emotions and habits, lifestyles, genes etc. can contribute to Obesity so you should consult a doctor or watch your health habits.
The real issue of Obesity is that it is not only a Caribbean problem but a worldly problem and we need to take steps to reduce it. To bring this commentary to a conclusion, I have three solutions which I think will be a great solution to the reducing of Obesity in the Caribbean. These include:
→ Persons should check there BMI (Body Mass Index) and if there seems to be a chance that you are overweight, you should check your doctor and find a solution to ring your weight to a normal body mass.
→ Educate yourself about portion control and healthy food choices
