Prejudice
Dear fellow audience,
In the United States there is a lot of discrimination and prejudice. Mostly known in Europe is discrimination and prejudice against black people. But not so many people know about the discrimination against Mexicans and even white people, “Americans”.
Millions of Mexicans immigrate illegally every year to the United States. This is already a big problem. But among the American citizens there are a lot of other problems that come along with those immigrants. For example Americans pay money and taxes to the state for many things, amongst others for their insurances and for their children to be able to go to preschool, school, high school and college. Most of the immigrants can not even speak a word English and they want their children to go to schools, too. So now here’s the problem: Preschools for example have to take kids that need it the most, such as Mexicans that can not speak English. This upsets American citizens a lot because they pay money to let their children go to preschool and they, of course, want their children to go to school, but mostly their kids are not allowed because other kids need preschool more than they do. Americans feel disadvantaged and see it as unfair that illegal immigrated Mexicans that pay no money at all to the state can let their kids go to school. So they call themselves discriminated against by immigrants. This is a reason why many Americans develop aggressions and hatred against immigrants. And then, if they see for example a Mexican person on the street, there are some people that call them names or make them feel uncomfortable. They do not care if this person maybe even immigrated legally. The point is that most of the Mexicans do not immigrate legally so Americans are angry about all Mexicans. That is also how discrimination and prejudice against Mexicans arise. Because of the American’s anger Mexicans are discriminated and they, of course, fight back. It is a two-sided problem with no...
