I’m sure that every one of you has heard the saying “In life no one is going to give you anything, because nothing in life is free, you have to work for it “. I don’t know about you but when I first heard that statement it immediately stuck with me, and has been recollected every time I endeavored to embark on something new. In all honesty, for me to write on “Why I Deserve the scholarship” is somewhat an unmanageable socially argumentative egotistical conception of merit. I know you are wondering why I didn’t use any commas in that above-mentioned sentence; the reason is that, that’s the only way I could explain in my own words why it’s hard for me to answer that question about deserving something. I could have possibly only used the word difficult but the only way for me to express what I mean exactly is the very way that I did it in that aforementioned cluster of words . In this very brief essay I shall illuminate on what I mean exactly by saying that the question of “Why I deserve the scholarship” is an unmanageable socially argumentative egotistical conception of merit.
I will first like to start by saying that the word merit simply means the quality of being deserving. I believe that to have an unmanageable socially argumentative egotistical conception of merit is to think that you deserve something without working for it. That’s a self-centered, none respecting of others kind of attitude. It’s unmanageable because that simple question is hard to grasp because you can’t lose sight of what someone else has worked hard for, for your own benefit. Actually a respective argument could be made if someone had to be that way only if they were in competition with someone, but I suppose that even in competition you should always take in consideration how hard your competitor has worked for the same thing you’re endeavoring for.
