College is yet a very great experience for a lot of people. Very few individuals get this opportunity. There probably isn’t any period in my life where I have more free time, more activities, or choices to choose from. At this period of time, there comes a high level of responsibility. There are several steps I can take to help you succeed in college which are: managing my time, taking effective notes, studying, develop a non-procrastinating attitude, determination, exploring.
When first getting to college, everything is such a blur. In order for me to get comfortable, I have to let myself explore passionately, and get to know people. I always want to make sure I know everything the school offers as far as classes and different activities. I need to learn to get out and try new things, and learn more from my surroundings. This will help to broaden my view of knowledge.
Managing my time is very important factor while in college and even life after college. First, I may want to start off by making a chart and writing down everything that I have to do, and the times that I plan to do them. I always have to make sure that I discipline myself and try not to go over my time limits. Carrying this schedule everywhere will help me to stay on track with the things I am supposed to do. Sticking to my schedule everyday should give me an idea of where my real priorities are. Rewarding myself after every task is a good way of motivating me to keep moving forward.
Studying is another route I may take to succeed in college. Developing a study schedule that I am able to stick with is very important. For example, if I am open on Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-2:00 p.m., study English during that time. Professors lecture in college and this is the biggest challenge that students face.
