I live in a gated and guarded housing estate in Seremban. All the residents are friendly and caring too. The housing area has a beautiful landscape of the flowering garden and a fish pond. My family and I always jog around the housing area every weekend. However, a problem has occurred near my house last week.
The road in front of our house was flooded with water for two days. There was a leaking water pipe underground. The water from the pipe gushed up causing the road to flood. My father decided to make a report to the local municipality as the water level increased and started to flow into the house yard.
A day after that, the municipal workers came with a complete set of repairing tools. They drilled the road to identify the cause of the water leakage. The traffic was not allowed to pass by because of the safety reasons since there was a big hole. The head of the workers took a quick action by calling the water company to cut off the water supply until they had finished their work.
The workers started to take out the water pipe by using a crane. They found out that the pipe was rusty because it has never been replaced since the housing area was completed. Next, the new pipe was lowered by a crane and the workers did some work to assemble the water pipe effectively.
They completed the repairing process by covering the big hole and the water supply was resumed after the road was levelled with layers of tar. The workers poured tar onto the road surface and resurfaced the road using a steamroller. After they cleaned off the road, the traffic was opened for the residents to pass by.
My father thanked the municipal workers on behalf of the residents for their concern. Their cooperative and responsible work attitude made our environment better.
