English has long been not just a fashionable language in the world today, it is also international, which is understood on every continent, in every country. For these reasons, knowledge of it often becomes a necessity for us.
Owning the English language, you will automatically go to a higher social level, as you become competitive contender for a high-paying job. As is known, prestigious organizations usually themselves or representatives of foreign companies, or lead them active affiliate business. And there is no English language skills will not do!
The main advantage of knowing English - it is understand and be understood!
Today, learning English is a mandatory item on the agenda of educational institutions of secondary and higher education. But statistics show that the level of English of the majority of pupils and students is not high enough. We know that this primarily depends on the student's desire to learn English. But there is also the role of the teachers, and their techniques, according to which teachers will give information and teach students. And one of these techniques is Computer Assisted Language Learning.
In my essay I want to demonstrate how Computer Assisted Language Learning helps in Foreign Language Teaching.
At first I want to give a definition of CALL. Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) is succinctly defined in a seminal work by Levy (1997: p. 1) as "the search for and study of applications of the computer in language teaching and learning".
Computer Assisted Language Learning (C.A.L.L.) embraces a really wide range of approaches to teaching and learning foreign languages, from 1960 for more recent using of it.
I think that computers are not very good at teaching by themselves. Only the way the teacher and students use computers will show how effective computers are in the language classroom.
