Evaluation of the Death Penalty
The death penalty is a very touchy subject and could be the basis for any of the papers due to the fact that there is so much information with so many conflicting sides. Case in point there is a big story from my small home town that has hit national news. . Junior Beebe Jr. was accused of killing Aimee Lee Hensley and Tonya Howarth; both mothers. He was arrested in Van Buren County Michigan for killing his cousin and his girlfriend and half burying them in the back of a travel trailer. This is a story full of bad investigations and too much media. Unless we change the system and really investigate properly without proving a man guilty without all the facts and a corrupt media many innocents will die. I do not believe it is a fair assumption that one innocent life is worth the price if we allow the media to influence judgments.
Before this horrendous event he was known to most as a little bit feisty, as he was an amateur MMA fighter. Also as a man and father of two young boys, a jokester, and a helpful person to those who were good to him. According to the press he was a petty criminal that is actually like most of our family and friends that stayed behind. But to me in my head he was my childhood friend named BJ normal little boy from a bit of an abnormal family but let’s face it everyone from the town I grew up in was a little dysfunctional.
This was devastating news not only for me but for our entire community and it hit hard with a lot of anger instantly preceding the news. Their deaths were horrible and it is an extreme loss I do not deny that these woman should still be alive, this should have never happened. Of course everyone sat behind their computers instantly and started to scream we should kill him bring back the death penalty and of course justification’s on why should we house and feed a man for life who...
