Motivation Plan
For Week 5 students are required to develop a Motivation Plan, that can be applied to my mentor’s department that can increase Team C’s motivation, satisfaction, and performance using their personal profiles contained in the DISC assessment results taken earlier during the course. This paper will analyze differences in attitude, emotions, values, performance, and address how the differences can be used to positively influence behavior. The paper will begin with Jim Rice, who is my mentor’s organization, the department he works in, and his job description. Following will be the DISC assessments for each member, specific differences, personalities, and the differences that will positively influence behavior at Jim Rice’s organization.
Organization and Job Description
Jim Rice works for an IT systems integration business called Sirius Computer Solutions. The company consults, designs, and manage IT systems for clients to meet their business needs and align with their strategic goals and objectives. It is a privately held U.S. business that does $1.5B in annual revenue with just over 1000 employees. Just over half of the employees are technical – engineers, developers, project managers, and consultants. As a systems integration business, it handles IT technologies that exist in the data center above the concrete and below the application layer. This includes manufacturers like CISCO, IBM, HP, EMC, etc. Jim’s team of 28 consultants is geographically diverse. Members of the team are distributed around the country and there are no more than three located in any given state. The team relies on collaboration technologies to stay connected and to collaborate among team members and to work with the balance of the Sirius technical staff.
