••Calgary Flames H1N1 Story••
There are so many people that are worrying about the swine flu pandemic. They usually stand in long line ups waiting to get the H1N1 shot, but then the Calgary Flames get there and think that they need the shot more than anyone else. The question is, why did this occur? They must have known that receiving this shot would cause major issues could to arise. Many people are extremely disappointed from this because we all know that there are obviously many other people that are at more of a risk. People also don’t understand why the doctors are even giving the shot to the Flames, when there is no NHL team getting it.
First of all, people are very angry at the fact that the doctors have given the shot this team. They don’t understand why the flames should get the shot considering there are many kids in daycares who are always in contact with other kids which makes them an easy target to this disease. People are also very disappointed because doctors know that children five and under are way
more susceptible to getting the swine flu and older people that are less susceptible to getting it. Then again they are still giving the shot to the Flames who would be considered a group of people less likely to get the flu.
Second of all, people are upset with the fact that doctors are giving the shot to the Calgary Flames when the Edmonton Oilers or the Pittsburgh Penguins aren’t getting it. From this, communities begin to ask the question what makes the team better than any other person who really need it? Another reason why people are disturbed is that they are letting the “famous people” go before high risk people. There is no specific reason why the Flames need this shot. Although they are around other players it is the same for any sport, and there has been no rush for them to receive the shot.
