What is the importance of respect in the army? What is the meaning of respect? What does respect have to do with anything and how can you be successful without it? Well in recent turning of events I have come to find out that it has a very big role in the military lifestyle. I mean in almost every aspect of the military lifestyle there are all kinds of structure, and always someone of higher rank there to make sure you do it. I mean I know I’m no expert on the matter at hand apparently speaking but it should be something that is instilled in every soldier. I mean look at me I’m not the example of a soldier but I’m hoping that I can actually learn the meaning of respect and what it mean to have it. I mean in basic they tried to instill the basic fundamentals of a soldier in all of us. Like one way they tried to do it is by have us learn the “SEVEN ARMY VALUES”. Which forms the acronym LDRSHIP? What does this mean? Well the “L” in the acronym means Loyalty. “D” stands for Duty. “R” is for respect. “S” is for selfless service. “H” is for honor. “I” is for Integrity. And finally the P is for Personal courage. Each of the words mean something and all have a place in the army especially respect. Cause without respect the Army wouldn’t be the way it is today. But as I was saying before Loyalty is a value the army upholds very strongly. An as the army describes it means bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, your unit and other Soldiers. Bearing true faith and allegiance is a matter of believing in and devoting yourself to something or someone. A loyal Soldier is one who supports the leadership and stands up for fellow Soldiers. By wearing the uniform of the U.S. Army you are expressing your loyalty. And by doing your share, you show your loyalty to your unit. Duty is something every soldier doe every day and means fulfill your obligations. Doing your duty means more than carrying out your assigned tasks. Duty means being able to accomplish...
