Beta speech 2012
The heart of beta four small, short but sweet words. What do they make you think about? Cupid flying around with a bow and arrows with hearts on the end, Maybe a heart surgeon who spent hours upon hours to reach the rank of being a certified cardiologist. What about famous love story authors like Nicolas Sparks or William Shakespeare how about the founding of the beta club in 1934 by Dr. John W. Harris. While those are all great answers try thinking little bit deeper. What about the heart of the nation? Those men and women who went to war for this amazing country sadly they got wounded in the process, but lived making them a Purple Heart veterans. Do all they ever do is sit at home and think about all the negative things, Like if they would have not when to war they would have two leg or both arms. No that did not stop them these Purple Heart veterans keep going they push forward. Looking on the bright side. Knowing that even though they got injured they made a difference even though they are just one person. Beta’s that’s how we should be. The Purple Heart veterans of our school, county, state, even country. Face it the heart of our nation will not live forever. We are the future we should step up and start now volunteering expecting nothing in return. Just as our motto states, leading by serving others. Living like it’s our last day to live, never letting an opportunity pass us by. Every morning we should get and up put on our socks of honesty, snap our pants of justice, button our shirt of service, tie our shoes of cooperation, buckle our belt of responsibility, zip our jacket of industriousness, pull on our helmet of humility, and last but not least slid on are shades of charity. With our war uniform on we should step out on the war ground, and scout out people to help or places to volunteer over all being the light that this country needs.
